Anti-Doping

The Welsh Rugby Union has rolled out an anti-doping program with the aim to support community rugby clubs and to educate players and support personnel about banned substances that are taken knowingly or not by rugby players while they are playing our sport.

Wayne Curtis and Ceri Wyatt have both been appointed Club Integrity Officers after they attended workshops conducted by Rob Thompson, the WRU Athlete Integrity Support Officer.

Below you will find links to various websites that are full of information which will give you the facts about banned substances. The websites will also allow you to check any medication or supplements you might be taking, to see if they are on the banned lists.

"The Global Drug Reference Online (Global DRO) provides athletes and support personnel with information about the prohibited status of specific medications based on the current World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Prohibited List." This website will allow you to check if a particular medication is on the banned list.

"Informed-Sport is a quality assurance program for sports nutrition products, suppliers to the sports nutrition industry, and supplement manufacturing facilities." This website will allow you to check if a supplement is on the banned list.
